Connecting our customers to experts comes with the significant responsibility to support the accurate and compliant exchange of knowledge in a way that recognizes the important legal limitations that experts have in their ability to discuss certain topics.
The key objectives of our compliance team are to create a structured and transparent environment in which experts share the information that they are permitted to share and to minimize all risks that such expert interactions could create for your business.
To achieve this, we have a dedicated compliance and legal team with many years of experience working to identify compliance risks and ways to mitigate them by implementing best practice processes, automation, and effective training.
The Four Core Compliance Pillars
Within compliance, there are four core pillars that we use to mitigate compliance risk: operational controls, policies, training, and monitoring.
Using a combination of these, we mitigate each of our compliance risks and build our core compliance. These are constantly revisited to ensure they are up to date with the latest regulatory developments and best practices.
Compliance is core to Techspert, with all our employees receiving extensive training. Our project managers have direct access to compliance staff to ask questions and raise concerns.
Regulatory Compliance
Utilizing our four core compliance pillars, we are compliant with GDPR and HIPAA. Our project managers are trained in both the French Anti-Gifting laws and the US Sunshine laws and have direct access to legal and compliance personnel for individual queries.
Our entire project team also undergoes annual BHIBA Adverse Events training, with many of the team having practical experience in handling Adverse Events.
Customer Compliance
We understand that sometimes, your company has very specific compliance requests. Where we are unable to meet them with our core compliance, we offer our customers additional bespoke “customer compliance.” We work with you to minimize the impact on recruitment whilst ensuring that your projects meet your compliance department’s needs.
Expert Recruitment
One of our core areas of compliance concerns the recruitment of experts. Here, our expert policy outlines a series of checks that every expert must go through before they are presented to you.
We adhere to Fair Market Values, with experts agreeing to our comprehensive terms and conditions before each call.
We utilize best-in-class identity verification solutions to combat fraudulent experts and the potential of identity theft. We also have the ability to run any expert profile through a large number of bad actor checks, from international sanctions to disbarment and SEC investigations.
Our expert screeners can incorporate bespoke compliance questions if needed.
Experts are reminded of important obligations at various stages of every engagement:
- On accepting the expert terms & conditions.
- As part of the Pre-Call instructions sent to experts.
- Contained within the invite email/event description.
On each of those occasions, an expert is reminded of their obligations.
For customers who need more rigorous compliance from our experts, we offer Expert Training with the ability to refresh every 12 months.
Data Security
We want you to know that your data can be safe with us. All transactions take place in our propriety online portal. We utilize industry best practice cloud security to provide you with secure access to all expert engagements across all your projects. We provide you with a full audit trail of all calls and individuals involved, with the ability to blind expert and client details, including on calls.
AI Compliance
There’s a wealth of different AI technologies out there, each with inconsistent definitions, that can make it hard to know whether your data is safe.
Techspert uses cutting-edge GenAI in our echo projects, but we have protections and enterprise agreements in place, so your data is never used to train models.
Furthermore, we’ve gone the extra mile to reinforce our HIPAA compliance by signing contracts with our AI partner to ensure that they retain zero data.
